The American Freedmen Independent Party believes that government should be judged not by political slogans or party loyalty, but by the results it produces for the people it serves.
Our platform is built upon a simple conviction: every public policy should strengthen families, expand opportunity, protect constitutional liberties, and create conditions where American Freedmen can thrive through faith, education, hard work, and ownership.
We reject the false choice between partisan politics and principled leadership. We are not committed to advancing the agenda of Democrats or Republicans. We are committed to advancing policies that improve the lives of American Freedmen and strengthen the United States.
Our platform is guided by our motto:
No Permanent Friends. No Permanent Enemies. Only Permanent Interests.
This principle means every candidate, every elected official, and every policy proposal must earn our support. We will work with anyone willing to advance the permanent interests of American Freedmen, and we will oppose policies that weaken our communities, regardless of which political party proposes them.
Better Schools
Every child deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in life. We support excellence in reading, mathematics, science, technology, skilled trades, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and civic education. Parents should be empowered to play a meaningful role in their children's education, and schools should be held accountable for student achievement and academic excellence.
Stronger Families
Strong families are the foundation of strong communities and a strong nation. We support policies that encourage marriage, responsible fatherhood and motherhood, child development, family stability, and environments where children can thrive emotionally, spiritually, educationally, and economically. We believe no government program can replace the strength of a healthy family.
Safer Communities
Every family deserves to live, work, and raise children in a safe neighborhood. We support effective law enforcement, community partnerships, violence prevention, accountability, and investments that reduce crime while protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. Public safety is one of government's most important responsibilities.
More Black-Owned Businesses
Economic independence begins with ownership. We support expanding Black entrepreneurship by increasing access to capital, business education, mentorship, government contracting opportunities, and policies that help businesses start, grow, and create jobs within our communities. Thriving businesses create thriving neighborhoods.
Homeownership
Homeownership remains one of the most effective paths to building generational wealth. We support policies that increase access to affordable housing, financial education, responsible lending, and opportunities for American Freedmen families to purchase, maintain, and pass property on to future generations.
Wealth Creation
We believe wealth should be created, protected, and transferred from one generation to the next. We support financial literacy, investing, savings, estate planning, business ownership, land ownership, and strategies that strengthen long-term economic security. Economic freedom is built through ownership, investment, and disciplined financial stewardship.
Health Improvement
Healthy communities are productive communities. We support preventive healthcare, nutrition education, physical fitness, mental wellness, chronic disease prevention, and increased access to quality healthcare that improves life expectancy and overall well-being. We believe better health strengthens families, communities, and the workforce.
Constitutional Rights
The Constitution guarantees fundamental freedoms that must be protected equally for every American. We support defending the rights secured by the Constitution, including due process, equal protection under the law, freedom of speech, religious liberty, the right to keep and bear arms, and protection from unlawful government overreach. Liberty is the cornerstone of a free society.
Government Accountability
Government exists to serve the people—not itself. We support transparency, fiscal responsibility, ethical leadership, independent oversight, and accountability for elected officials to ensure taxpayer dollars are managed honestly, efficiently, and in the public interest. Public office is a public trust
Civic Education
An informed citizenry is essential to self-government. We support educating citizens about the Constitution, American history, elections, local government, financial responsibility, and civic engagement so every American can make informed decisions and effectively advocate for their communities. Democracy is strongest when citizens understand how government works
Economic Opportunity
Every American should have the opportunity to succeed through hard work, innovation, and personal initiative. We support policies that promote job creation, workforce development, skilled trades, entrepreneurship, fair competition, innovation, and pathways to upward economic mobility. We believe lasting prosperity comes from creating opportunity, expanding ownership, and encouraging self-sufficiency rather than long-term dependency.
